At the Holocaust Memorial
At the Holocaust Memorial you will find many different people from all over the world. For me some stand for hope, others for the people who had to flee Germany during the war; the ones who stayed behind alone after losing their loved ones; the ones who lent a helping hand during these dark times. Some stand for the people who pretended not to know anything about the ongoing slaughter. I see the many tears shed, the people reaching out for help, and the plagued shadows that serve as a reminder of past mistakes.
I hope, though that people come here, feel the melancholic and oppressive atmosphere and understand that hatred, antisemitism and racism are something we have to fight together on a global scale.
